Gollito wins the freestyle competition in Sylt

The Venezuelan and four times  freestyle World Champion, Gollito Estredo, would have probably changed the today´s 1000 euros prize for having won the competitions hold in Aruba, Austria and Fuerteventura, which did count for the world ranking. The new 2011 freestyle World Champion in 2011, Steven Van Broeckhoven (F2, Gaastra) has got the second position and Ricardo Campello has been third in Germany. We are now waiting for stronger wind to hold wave and slalom competitions. More information and live video on the website of the pwa: http://www.pwaworldtour.com

Change your point of view...today camera on the mast!

Some days ago we put the Go Pro camera in the mast and we went to Bahia de las Formas to test the new F2 quad Barracuda and the new Loft Sails. Now we show you the images, where you can watch step by step a jibe, a forward and a tack. We have also edit the video into slow motion in order to appreciate each movement better. Look also the excellent performance and twist of the sail. Definetly, Monty Spindler -the designer- knows exactly what to do.

Loft Sails, new sail partner

logo-loftCutre Windsurf Center has closed a strategic agreement making Loft Sails its main Sailmaking partner. This agreement also converts Cutre in the exclusive distributor for Loft Sails in the Canary Islands.

Since 2000 Loft Sails is a highly specialized sailmaker which thanks to the passion and experience of Monty Spindler, the designer, has always developed very high quality sails both in performance and construction, as many of you have been able to confirm during the last days.

Very soon Monty Spindler, mentor of many of the current sail designers, will visit Pozo Izquierdo to present the 2012 line of sails and to explain the theory behind the designs and will teach us how to optimize rigging and how to get the most out of these sails. We will remind you with time so that those of you interested can assist.

We already have some sails in the shop so that you can checkout and test the construction and performance. We have tested some of these models and we have to point out their stability, maneuverability, and the top speed they allow…

Here are some of the designs that are around the corner… bye to the wrinkles??

Philip:"Being the World Champion is a dream come true"

Km11_ls_koster_celebrates

We have warned time ago ... that Köster was windsurfing in a higher level than the rest of riders. And he has demonstrated. Yesterday was an exception; maybe he had not a great day or had not rigged the right sail and was probably overpowered. But today we have seen the best wave windsurfer in the world. First he has won Victor in the semifinals, with a planning double forward loop and a backside 360 and reverse on one wave.

In the final against Campello, he has been very good again, with a goiter on one hand and a taka. Campello had to resign and return to the beach to prepare for the super-final. But this time there were no surprises and Köster again has won with authority, getting the 2011 world championship, by winning the three competitions: Pozo Izquierdo, Tenerife and Kitmöller.

And he is only 17 years ... we have show for a while...

Congratulations Philip!

Fausto “steals” the first F2 Barracuda Quad

Even though the four boards we received as a world premiere where intended for testing, we could not avoid that one of our Italian friends –who fell in love with the Barracuda Quad- took it back with him to Italy. Fausto Pippini is the first customer to buy the new F2 Barracuda Quad worldwide.

In his own words “I love this board because it is very fast to be a Quad, it is very stable and good to go through the choppy, and to surf. In addition it is very agile.” This is because the Barracuda is an exceptional board that surprises for its agility and lightweight. It incorporates the new slot box fin system, making it very light, and therefore very maneuverable and surfer. Additionally the volume is very well distributed making it easy to early plane.

When Fausto was taking the board, Marc our shop manager, was resisting… but could do nothing to convince him to wait so that we could get him a brand new one from Germany. We already have several customers who have tested the Barracuda and who have become stoked, bringing in their old Quads to put on sale and ordered the new F2 Barracuda Quad.

Congratulations F2!! And congratulations Fausto!!!

As we told you a few weeks back, we have received the new F2 Barracuda Quads 2012. You can stop by the shop and see them.

They arrived late afternoon, and thanks to some friends we were able to clear them through customs almost at night. We couldn't resist so we kept the shop open and unboxed them. Here is the video.
