Our friend Fernando León in the America's Cup World Series

Our friend and Olypic Gold Medal Fernando León will participate in the spectacular America's Cup World Series in the Spanish team Green Comm. A newly born competition and which promises to offer lots of fun. Short races near the coast in cities al over the world with 45 feet catamarans and rigid wing sails with the best sailors in the world. Fernando was telling us this afternoon that they have reached over 35 knots in competition.

The good thing is that YOUTUBE holds the TV rights so we will be able to follow his races easily. We would like to congratulate him and we are sure he will have lots of fun.

Here are a few videos so you can get a taste of what's coming.

Back loop step by step with the GO PRO camera

We tested the GO PRO camera on the helmet yesterday and we really liked it. With excellent full HD quality, it is very useful to learn new technical maneuvers as the back loop of the following video. A perfect machine to record your best sessions on water or to improve your windsurfing. The new Go PRO camera can be fixed in the boom, on the helmet, on the board or on the mast, and it is from now available to be rented in our shop. Improve your windsurfing has never been so easy!

Wonderful 10 meters high Köster's forward!

Two weeks ago we shooted Philip training in Pozo. He jumped so high than went out from the camera frame. He is surfing and jumping so well than he will probably be the next wave champion. Köster has won the last four finals...and he is just 17 years old! We are all waiting for next competition in Denmark. The show comes back next month!

F2: CUTRE’s new main partner

f2-logo

CUTRE has signed a strategic agreement with F2 International, making the famous windsurf equipment Brand its main partner. From today, CUTRE will be the exclusive F2 distributor for the Canary Islands.

F2 has been since the early 80’s one of the most renown windsurfing brands, developing and manufacturing boards, sails, masts, booms, and all sort of accessories and wear. CUTRE will begin to renovate all its rental and school boards to F2 in order to offer its customers the latest in quality equipment.

The agreement goes beyond a simple distribution agreement, as CUTRE through Juan Enrique Ureña – 25 years in the industry and 10 years’ experience competing PWA - becomes a technical advisor for the development and evolution of wave boards. This is a task that Juan Enrique has done informally for 16 years for all the brands CUTRE has worked with. This agreement formalizes this role since F2 has the objective to evolve wave boards with Juan Enrique, taking advantage of Pozo’s conditions, and plans on launching a special edition board.

barracuda F2 has demonstrated great interest in the agreement, so CUTRE will be receiving in a few days the first units of the F2 Barracuda Quad Wave boards right out of the factory. These boards will premiere at Pozo Izquierdo and will be at your disposal for testing and enjoyment.

The F2 Barracuda Quad Wave boards come in 72, 77, 84 and 92 litres and promise to offer lots of fun and color in the waves at Pozo.

In a few days we will give you more details about F2’s wide range of boards and accessories, but we would like to also highlight the SX SILBERPFIEL LTD (Silver Arrow) as the speed slalom board for those of us who also take advantage of the day with less wind and less waves to accelerate in the water. This model will come in 91, 111, 135, and 150 litres.

That said… more surprises shortly.

New Shop Manager

Marc-web

Marc Llorens joins the Cutre team as the new Manager for our Pozo Izquierdo Shop.

Many of you may know him from Bahía de Formas or from sailing in Pozo. Marc has a degree in Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, and after working for several media companies, he decided to leave it all and come to Gran Canaria in order to sail. When he arrived to our island he began working for one of the top newspapers here and then worked as a windsurf instructor. He knows the sport well... but most importantly he will make sure your windsurfing needs are met during your visit.

Congratulations and welcom to the team!

5 cameras in 1

Now the webcam located at El Viento Beach Restaurant offers 5 different camera angles from the beach so that you can checkout the conditions. The camera holds each angle for 30 seconds.
