Happy monday

Despite not having the briliant blue sky we had yesterday (in the picutre), today is holiday in the Canary Islands and we still have great windsurfing conditions at Pozo Izquierdo, the wind is a little bit lighter than yesterday (I'm glad it is), now it's for 4,5-4,0 and we have some nice waves.

The Day

We have been waiting for this Sunday for a while, the forecast said it would be the best day of the week, and Saturday has been really good; in a few hours we will see if the forecast was right.
I know I haven't been posting too many photos lately, but we are doing the 2011 Simmer photoshoot and I can't publish those pictures yet.

Windsurfing weekend

Friday afternoon and the weekend in front of us is looking amazing, the wind was blowing strong from early morning but was absolutely flat, but by noon we could go for a watershot session with some fun waves for jumping.

Pic of the day

Despite having a great day for windsurfing at Pozo Izquierdo, no waves, but strong wind and an amazing blue sky, when I went to the beach in the afternoon I never found the right angle, I don't know it was the lack of waves or I just wasn't inspired, but at the end of the day, the best picture was this one from Julia.

It's here!

Just in time, as the forecast said, the wind picked up today.
Early morning was light and a little bit clouded, but now we have good windsurfing conditions for 4,5-4,2 and a perfect blue sky.

Perfect day

Te forecast was not good at all for today, but the truth is I've been windsurfing for more than two hours this morning, and conditions kept getting better and better, nothing radical but such a fun session. Now you can windsurf in Pozo Izquierdo with 5,0-4,5 and some small but fun waves.

Vargas

Vargas2Vargas1Vargas3Vargas4

In the last few days, the wind was too north for Pozo Izquierdo, but the area between Jinamar and Vargas was pretty good. Looks like we could have similar conditions for all the weekend.

Albeau & Jaggy winners at Korea

_4a50a50cd7_8428f0beca_07578ea01e_ca994503d1_3070ecc8ed_1a8ec137f7

Antoine Albeau starts the season just how he finished last year; untouchable in front of the fleet, Bjorn started really good, and after the first three slaloms he was looking really strong just behind Antoine, but he fell in the semifinal of the fourth slalom and giving Antoine and advantage he never lost. In third position we have an in form Jimmy Diaz, he already talked about the chance of being in the podium in a recent interview at Kevin Pritchard’s blog.

On the women division Alice Artukin started really strong looking like she was not giving any chances to the other girls to win the event, but in the last two days of competition was a different story, an over early and a crash left her in third position, in favour of Karin Jaggy who won the event and Sarah-Quita with a second place.

PWA event in Tenerife

I just recieved some great news, It's confirmed a PWA wave event for this summer at El Medano (Tenerife), mid July, from the 16th to 21th.
I'll keep you updated as soon as I have more news.

Unexpected wind

The forecast was not good at all for today, this morning the wind was nearly inexistent and from the south, so I started editing some photos from the previous weeks, but suddently, a few minutes ago, the courtain started to move ferociously, now you can sail in Pozo Izquierdo with 4,7 in fact, I think I'll prepare those photos in the evening.

The last one

It's no secret I love the warmth of evening light, the hingh color temperature of the last rays of daylight; here you have a good example, Claus, yesterday evening, enjoying the sunset from the water after a hard working day.

Looking and learning

When I was 14, never went through my head triying a goiter (of course it was not invented by then, but that's not the question) but when sailing at your home spot, you see Jonas Ceballos doing more than 20 in one session and making them look easy, maybe you start thinking it's not that difficult and start trying yourself. I don't know when Moritz started, but yesterday he did a couple of nice attempts, really close to pull them.

Pictures from yesterday

In the last picutre you can see the rush hour traffic yesterday at the bunker area, around 6 in the evening, but despite the crowd, was one of those days everybody was having fun, with small waves and moderate wind.

After the first day of competition at the PWA Ulsan World Cup (Korea), Antoine Albeau leads the fleet by a small margin to Bjƶrn Dunkerbeck and with Micah Buzianis in third place, on the women side, Alice Artukin is first, followed by Karin Jaggi and Sarah-Quita Offringa.

Sunday at Pozo Izquierdo

The day started coluded and gusty, but right now we have nice windsurfing conditions at Pozo Izquierdo, small waves now with the high tide (it's supposed to get better during the afternoon with the tide going down), sunny and with moderate to strong winds, people are using 4,5-4,0.

Nice morning in Pozo Izquierdo, with trade winds blowing from early morning, light at the beginning but getting better, now peple are on 7,4-4,5 and the forecast is good for all the weekend, looking really good for Sunday and Monday.
The picture is not from today, is from a few days ago, when Marie was windsurfing in similar conditions to the ones we have now in Pozo.
