Since his return to the world tour this year, Andy Irons had not been at the level of surfing he used to be. At the U.S. Open in Huntington he showed some sporadic moments of genius, but without a good result in the competition.
This week at Teahupoo, has clearly reminded the best Andy Irons, going almost unnoticed in the early rounds to reach the peak of his performance in the final stages of the competition, was impeccable in his semifinal against Kelly Slater and in the final against CJ Hobgood looked invincible.
